She received a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Arizona and received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. Dr. Pfitzer completed her Post- Doctoral surgical residency program at Northridge Hospital in California.  In addition to her training in the general practice of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Pfitzer had extensive training in the diagnosis and management as well as surgical treatment of chronic wounds. This training relates to Diabetic ulcers and wounds as well as to Venous Stasis, Arterial insufficiency and traumatic wounds. Her training has also provided her with experience and understanding in the non-surgical treatments of foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Pfitzer has particular interests in biomechanics, sports medicine and diabetic wound care.  Dr. Pfitzer lives in Avondale, with her Husband and two daughters.
